The Government of West Bengal has launched an important welfare scheme called the Banglar Yuba Sathi (Yuva Sathi) Scheme. This scheme launched by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is meant to give financial help to educated unemployed youth in the state so they can manage their daily expenses while looking for a job.

Banglar Yuva Sathi is a social security scheme launched by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, Government of West Bengal. The main aim of this scheme is to provide ₹1,500 per month as financial support to educated unemployed youth in the state.
This financial assistance will be given for up to 5 years or until the beneficiary gets a job, whichever comes first.

Banglar Yuba Sathi (Yuva Sathi) Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Banglar Yuba Sathi (Yuva Sath) scheme, an applicant must fulfill the following conditions:
- Residency: The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- Age Limit: The applicant should be between 21 and 40 years of age as of April 1, 2026.
- Educational Qualification: The applicant must have passed Madhyamik (Class 10) or an equivalent exam.
- Employment Status: The applicant must be unemployed at the time of applying.
- Exclusions: Applicants who are already receiving any other State Government allowance or social security benefit are not eligible (educational scholarships are allowed).
Required Documents (Self-Attested)
While filling out the application form, you must attach self-attested copies of the following documents:
- Recent Passport Size Photograph: A colour photo to be pasted on the form.
- Aadhaar Card: For identity verification and DBT purposes.
- Voter Card: As proof of residence.
- Madhyamik Admit Card: To verify the date of birth.
- Educational Certificates: Marksheet or certificate of your highest qualification.
- Bank Details: First page of the bank passbook or a cancelled cheque (the bank account must be in the applicant’s name only).
- Caste Certificate: Required if applying under the SC/ST/OBC category.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Process
At present, there is no online application facility for the Yuva Sathi (Yuba Sathi) scheme. The entire application process is being carried out offline through designated camps to ensure that the scheme reaches as many eligible beneficiaries as possible.
Step 1: Get the Application Form
Application forms are available free of cost at special camps organized across all 294 Assembly Constituencies. Applicants can also download the form from the official websites under the ‘News and Events’ section:
Step 2: Fill the Form
The application form must be filled in English capital letters only. While filling the form, you need to provide:
- Duare Sarkar Registration Number (if applicable)
- Personal details (Name, Father’s/Mother’s name, Date of Birth)
- Contact details and full address
- Highest educational qualification and bank details
Step 3: Submit at the Camp
Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with self-attested documents at the Assembly-wise camps between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Step 4: Acknowledgement
After submitting the form, make sure to collect the signed acknowledgement receipt from the receiving official for future reference.

Verification and Sanctioning
After submission, the applications will be verified by designated officials. The final list of eligible candidates will then be forwarded to the District Magistrate (DM) or the Commissioner of KMC, who are the approving authorities.
The status of beneficiaries (whether they are alive and still unemployed) will be checked once every year.
