A man in Delhi is sharing the story of how a cab driver went above and beyond to return his lost mobile phone.

The man, Shajan Samuel, took a cab from the airport to his hotel in Delhi on July 17. When he arrived at the hotel, he realized that he had left his mobile phone in the cab.
Samuel call to Cab Driver
He called the cab driver, but the driver did not answer. Samuel then tried to track down the cab driver through the app he had used to book the ride, but he was unsuccessful.
Samuel was starting to lose hope when he received a knock on his hotel door. It was the cab driver, who had come to return his mobile phone.
The cab driver, identified as Hiralal Mondal, told Samuel that he had found the mobile phone in the backseat of his cab after he had dropped Samuel off at the hotel. Mondal said that he had immediately recognized the phone as Samuel’s because it had a distinctive case.

Mondal said that he had tried to call Samuel several times, but he had not been able to get through. He then decided to come to the hotel to return the phone in person.

“I am so grateful to Hiralal for returning my phone,” Samuel said. “It is a reminder that there are still honest and trustworthy people in the world.”
