Ayodhya Dham: How the new railway station and airport will transform the city of Ram

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to be welcomed in Ayodhya on December 30, where he will inaugurate the recently built Ayodhya Dham railway station and airport. According to city MP Lallu Singh, the railway station, formerly Ayodhya Junction, has been renamed Ayodhya Dham Junction in accordance with public sentiments and the Prime Minister’s guidance.

As Ayodhya prepares for the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir on 22 January 2024, the railway station and airport play integral roles in the city’s extensive development plan. The Prime Minister will supervise the arrangements for the temple ceremony, anticipating millions of devotees from both the country and around the globe.

Combining architectural marvel and advanced technology, the Ayodhya Dham railway station seamlessly merges elements of both ancient and modern design. The station’s structure mirrors a splendid temple, adorned with domes, pillars, arches, and murals narrating the life and magnificence of Lord Ram. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the station is outfitted with contemporary conveniences like lifts, escalators, a tourist information center, and medical facilities. Extensive renovations and upgrades have been undertaken on platforms, signboards, and other infrastructure, ensuring passengers a comfortable and convenient travel experience.

Situated approximately 25 km from the city, the airport is fully prepared to handle both domestic and international flights. Additionally, the airport will play a crucial role in accommodating dignitaries and VIPs attending the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is personally overseeing the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit and the temple ceremony. He has directed officials to meticulously adhere to all protocols and guidelines, with a particular emphasis on the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, he has urged the residents of Ayodhya and Uttar Pradesh to collaborate with the administration, maintain peace and harmony during this significant event.

Ayodhya’s District Magistrate, Gaurav Dayal stated that the administration is ready to manage the substantial influx of visitors following the temple inauguration. He mentioned that projections indicate a daily visitation of approximately 50,000 to 55,000 individuals to Ayodhya after January 22. The administration is actively organizing accommodations, transportation, security, and sanitation to cater to the needs of the incoming crowds.
